Emtec at ABTCP 2024 in Sao Paulo

The German developer, producer and distributor of innovative paper testing technologies will be present at the International Pulp and Paper Congress and Exhibition ABTCP 2024 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from October 1 to 3. emtec Electronic will showcase its wet-end control solutions and the objective softness-detecting TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer.

The ABTCP 2024 offers the perfect opportunity to discover new trends, technologies and learn about the companies´ initiatives in environmental, social and executive sectors. Together with Elof Hansson, the Brazilian partner company, emtec Electronic will present their innovations to support and improve the Brazilian pulp and paper industry at booths no. C101 + C102.

For example, unclear charge conditions in the pulp area of the paper machine can lead to losses in product quality, disruptions in the production process and higher consumption of additives. The availability of information about the charge conditions enables the mill technicians and engineers to get a good overview of the status throughout the complete wet-end process.

Test devices, which provide this necessary information, are the CAS touch! Charge Analyzing System and the FPA touch! Fiber Potential Analyzer. Their application in the laboratory or in the field is an old hat for papermakers. In addition to the used proven methods, both devices offer features for an effective, user-friendly and intuitive handling. Especially chemical suppliers appreciate their small size and light weight for convenient transportation. They are ready to use immediately after unpacking, as no additional components need to be assembled.

The haptic optimization in tissue paper production and converting can be achieved by measuring the softness of tissue paper with the new TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer. This device simulates the human hand and measures various individual parameters (see TAPPI TIP 0808-07 (2021)). Softness is determined by the flexibility of individual fibers on the tissue paper's surface, which is measured using a sound analysis. Additionally, the rough structure of the surface (e.g. due to embossing) causes a sound, which is analyzed by the emtec TSA as smoothness parameter. The flexibility or stiffness (in-plane) of the base or finished product can be measured by a deformation measurement with a specific pressure force. All this together results in an objective assessment of the subjective hand feel.

All interested visitors are cordially invited to visit the Elof Hansson booths no. C101 + C102 and talk to emtec expert Mr. Daniel Ohndorf (Sales Area Manager) and the great team of the Brazilian partner company at ABTCP 2024 in Sao Paulo.
