Voith and PTS Heidenau: New standard for measuring stickies and non-tacky contaminants
In collaboration with the research and service institute Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) Heidenau in Germany, Voith is introducing a new measuring method to detect unwanted tacky contaminants known as stickies. The measuring method, which uses a near-infrared (NIR) camera, allows the reliable detection of contaminants along the papermaking process and offers higher measuring accuracy and a wider range of applications compared to conventional methods. The associated technical rule was recently published as DIN SPEC 6745. › more |

Mondi upgrades paper bags facility in Hungary
Mondi has successfully completed the implementation of a new state-of-the-art paper sack converting machine at its Nyíregyháza site in Hungary. The machine – a Windmöller & Hölscher AD 8320 / AM 8115 – allows the plant to produce a new line of sophisticated paper sacks for food packaging. The site will be capable of producing more than 130 million sacks annually. › more |
