Andritz to supply two tissue machines to C&S Paper, China

International technology Group Andritz has received an order from C&S Paper to supply two PrimeLineCompact tissue machines for its mill in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, China. The machines will produce tissue for household paper, napkins, handkerchiefs, facial tissues, and toilet paper at a maximum capacity of 94 t/d each. They have a design speed of 1,650 m/min and a width of 3.5 m.

Heinzel Group announces closure of Raubling Papier GmbH

Heinzel Group has made the difficult decision to close its subsidiary, Raubling Papier GmbH, in Germany, due to persistently difficult market conditions and challenging economic circumstances. This decision follows comprehensive discussions with the local works council, resulting in a successfully concluded social plan. More than half of the affected employees have already secured new employment, reflecting the effectiveness of the company’s transition support efforts.

Toscotec has been certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 50001:2018 energy management system. The certification was issued by Certiquality, an independent third-party assurance body validated by Italy’s national accreditation body Accredia.

Optimized LC pulping system for recycled paper

Voith, full-line supplier in the paper industry, presents its optimized LC (low-consistency) pulping system for recycled paper. The previous TwinPulp system has undergone extensive further development, with the focus on improving efficiency and reducing costs. Following the optimization of the IntensaPump after the IntensaPulper IP-R, the IntensaMaXX and the IntensaScreenDrum, the revisions of all main components have been successfully completed. The high-performance OCC dissolution system, which meets the latest technological standards, is now available under the name BluePulpLC.

Sappi awarded highest sustainability level by EcoVadis for six consecutive years

Sappi has again achieved Platinum, the highest rating in EcoVadis’ sustainability assessment across all three of its manufacturing regions – Europe, North America, and South Africa. Sappi continues to be among the top 1% of the companies worldwide rated by EcoVadis in the manufacture of pulp, paper and paperboard category. In 2018-2019, Sappi received EcoVadis gold medal, which was the highest level until the Platinum category was introduced in 2020.

Valmet to supply both a papermaking line and a paper machine rebuild to a customer in Asia-Pacific

Valmet has received two orders from one of its major customers in Asia-Pacific. One order includes a complete papermaking line from stock preparation to reel and winders, a comprehensive automation solution package as well as spare parts and consumables packages. The other order includes a paper machine rebuild with automation and services. Both will produce uncoated woodfree grades, and the start-ups are scheduled for 2026.

SCA updates MTN program and publishes prospectus

Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget SCA (publ) on May 8, 2018 established a Medium Term Note program (MTN) with a loan framework amounting to SEK 8 billion. Up to and including July 5, 2024 SCA has issued SEK 6.2 billion under the MTN program, of which SEK 4 billion is outstanding.

Södra to become “largest producer of kraft lignin in the world”

As a step in the strategy of getting more out of every tree, Södra is now establishing a new business to become a “world leader in the production of kraft lignin”. Södra's production facility will be the first commercial facility in Sweden and the largest of its kind in the world. This is an investment of over two billion SEK and expected to be in operation in 2027.

Andritz to supply world’s largest lignin production system to Södra pulp mill in Sweden

Swedish forest industry group Södra has selected international technology group Andritz to supply a complete solution for kraft lignin production to its Mönsterås pulp mill in Sweden. This major investment marks Södra’s entry into the lignin market as part of its strategy to make the most of the wood used in pulp production. This will be the first commercial kraft lignin plant in Sweden and the largest in the world.
