Dear ipw reader,
on June 26th, 2014, directly after the Zellcheming (Association of pulp and paper chemists and engineers) Expo, the magazine Paperazzo awarded its "Haptik Award" for the third time. In her greeting at the beginning of the event, Susanne Haase, editor in chief of Paperazzo, highlighted the importance and significance of the unique haptic qualities of paper and print products, thus emphasizing the special status of this competition: "In comparison to our visual and auditory senses, the haptic sense remains almost untouched. In an increasingly digital world, where we have almost learned to ignore pictures and sounds, haptic sensations can be especially convincing. Herein lies a great opportunity for paper and print products, as they are able to convey messages in a unique way. To feature ideal combinations between haptics, visual design and great ideas for paper and print products is aim of the magazine and of the award competition."
