New EMEA President to start at Valmet

Iggesund further reduces carbon emissions
Iggesund Paperboard’s Swedish pulp and paperboard production facility, Iggesund Mill, reduced its fossil carbon dioxide emissions by 86 per cent from 2013 to 2014 from what was already a low level. The reduction is partly due to the investment in a new recovery boiler, which was completed in 2012. › more |

REVISED DEINKING SCORECARD TO BOOST PRINT PRODUCT RECYCLABILITY
The European Recovered Paper Council (ERPC) has adopted a revised version of its deinking scorecard, first published in 2008. The scorecard assesses the deinkability of a printed product, based on the results of the widely-accepted “INGEDE Method 11” laboratory deinking test procedure, developed by the International Association of the Deinking Industry (INGEDE). › more |

ANDRITZ successfully starts up second tissue machine with steel Yankee for Shandong Sun Paper
The PrimeLineTM W8 machine (PM28) at the Yanzhou mill, Shandong Province, has a design speed of 2,000 m/min and a width of 5.62 m. The Yankee, manufactured entirely of steel, has a diameter of 18 feet. › more |

Metsä Group’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill receives a EUR 32 million investment subsidy for renewable energy
The Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy has granted Äänekoski bioproduct mill a EUR 32.1 million investment subsidy for renewable energy. If the prerequisites for the investment are met, the bioproduct mill investment decision will be made this spring. › more |

Stora Enso appoints new Head of Communications for Paper Division and Finnish media relations
Stora Enso has appointed Liisa Nyyssönen as SVP Communications for the Paper division and Finnish media. Liisa Nyyssönen joins Stora Enso from Ahlstrom Corporation where she has worked as Vice President, Group Communications since 2011. Prior to Ahlstrom she worked as ICT and media sector consultancy lead at Hill and Knowlton Helsinki. Before that she held several communications leadership positions at Nokia. › more |
