Program promoting the employment of young people
The second part of the youth program started by Valmet and the Children and Youth Foundation in the spring has started today, November 15, at several of Valmet's units in Finland. As a part of the program Valmet enables paid practical training of three weeks for 100 young people. The participants to the unique program include young people aged 16-29 years who may, for instance, have challenges in finding their own path or with their basic working life skills. › more |

Sappi North America Invests $5.94 Million in Cloquet, Minn. Mill
The investment is to replace the headbox on Paper Machine 12 (PM12). This investment enabled Sappi to maintain its capacity by adding a state-of-the-art, dilution profiled headbox that produces excellent basis weight profiles. A headbox is an integral part of the paper machine responsible for spreading the pulp fibers evenly to form the sheet. › more |

Andritz to supply baling line with bale tracking to Sappi Saiccor
The order comprises a new baling line with a capacity of 250 bales per hour, machines to connect two existing production lines, and bale tracking for the new and the two existing baling lines. Although there is limited space available, no new building is necessary due to the special space-saving design of the ANDRITZ baling line. › more |

Voith sets records with start-up of XcelLine tissue machine supplied to Little Rapids Corp
Voith Paper concluded, in October, the start-up of the new XcelLine VTM 3 tissue machine it has supplied to US tissue and specialty paper manufacturer Little Rapids Corporation. The new machine has replaced the company’s old PM 3 at its Shawano production facility in Wisconsin. › more |

August Koehler SE paper mill trusts in Voith
The August Koehler SE paper mill has awarded Voith the order for a new production line for machine-glazed specialty papers. Line 8 is to be installed at the company's Kehl facility and consists of a BlueLine stock preparation unit, wet end process, XcelLine paper machine, offline coating machine and VariPlus winder. Designed for up to 120,000 metric tons per year, Line 8 will produce a flexible range of thermal papers and flexible packaging papers and will therefore be one of the most efficient specialty paper machines in the world when it goes into operation from the summer of 2019. › more |

Kemira celebrated its new production line in Joutseno, Finland
Kemira invested approximately EUR 50 million in the new production line which is among the biggest manufacturing site investments in Finland made in recent years. Andritz to supply evaporation plant to Iggesund Paperboard
The new 7-effect high dry solids evaporation plant will have a capacity of 350 t/h evaporated water. It will replace an old Andritz evaporation line from the 1970’s and significantly enhance energy efficiency at the Iggesund mill. The state-of-the-art technology of the evaporation plant will improve the cleanliness of the condensates produced, which are reused in other processes in the pulp mill. › more |
