Stora Enso will convert the Oulu paper mill into a packaging board mill
Stora Enso has decided to invest approximately EUR 350 million to convert the Oulu paper mill in Finland into packaging production. The investment includes converting paper machine 7 into high-quality virgin-fibre-based kraftliner production, and the closure of paper machine 6 and sheeting plant. Production on the converted machine is estimated to start by the end of 2020. › more |

Voith edge trim concept yields excellent results in its first reference in Latin America
Since January 2017, paper manufacturer GreenPaper, headquartered in the city of San Nicolás de los Garza, NuevoLeón, Mexico, has been operating with Voith’s EdgeExpert edge trimconcept on the wire section of its PM 3’s top ply. ANDRITZ to supply a PrimeLineECO tissue machine with two stock preparation lines to Xuan Mai Paper in Vietnam
International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Xuan Mai Paper Co. Ltd. to supply a PrimeLineECO tissue machine for its mill in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for the production of high-quality tissue grades made of either 100% virgin or 100% deinked pulp (DIP). Start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020. › more |

Fun and edgy banana packaging winner of PIDA Sweden 2019
For the 15th year in a row, the Swedish edition of PIDA - Packaging Impact Design Award, was held in Stockholm, and this year, sustainability and recycling were in focus. The students presented creative and fun ideas on how to package clothes, beauty products and confectionery in a more environmentally friendly way. And the design that had the best concept according to the jury, was Bois Underwear, made by students from Nackademin. › more |

ANDRITZ to supply major pulp production technologies and key process equipment for Klabin’s pulp mill in Brazil
International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Klabin to supply energy-efficient and environmentally friendly pulp production technologies and key process equipment for Klabin’s “PUMA II” project in Ortigueira, Paraná, Brazil. The order value is in the range of approx. 190 million euros. Start-up has been scheduled in the second quarter of 2021. › more |

FESPA returns to Munich in 2021
FESPA today announces that the flagship Global Print Expo will return to Munich, Germany, in 2021, together with its co-located event for non-printed signage, European Sign Expo. UPM launches a new advanced wound care product for the European market. FibDex® is the first wound dressing created from wood-based nanofibrillar cellulose to receive regulatory approval and be awarded a CE mark. Nanofibrillar cellulose, which has been shown to be biocompatible with human cells and tissue, forms the core of the dressing.
