+++ IMPORTANT +++ Coronavirus continues to spread: drupa postponed to April 2021 The drupa trade fair scheduled for 16-26 June 2020 will be postponed to 20-30 April 2021. In doing so, Messe Düsseldorf is following the recommendation of the crisis management team of the German Federal Government to take into account the principles of the Robert Koch Institute when assessing the risk of major events. Based on this recommendation and the recent significant increase in the number of people infected with the new corona virus (SARS-CoV-2), including in Europe, Messe Düsseldorf has reassessed the situation. In addition, there is the general ruling issued by the city of Düsseldorf on 11 March 2020, in which major events with more than 1,000 participants present at the same time are generally prohibited. › more |

ABB to upgrade paper machine drives, motors and electrical control systems at WestRock mill in Washington, USA
WestRock Company, provider of differentiated paper and packaging solutions, has selected ABB to replace its dry end drive system. This includes upgrades to its PM12 paper machine drives, motors and the installation of the ABB Ability™ System 800xA control system at its mill in Longview, Washington, USA. Installation and commissioning of the project is planned for completion by year-end 2020. › more |

Stora Enso cancels its Annual General Meeting
Based on the development of the coronavirus situation and the announcements by the Finnish Government, Stora Enso has decided to cancel its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 19 March 2020. › more |

Holmen 2020 Annual General Meeting: Information relating to coronavirus
To reduce the risk of spreading the virus, Holmen’s 2020 AGM will be kept brief and will be held without any reception or food and drink afterwards. The company’s Board of Directors and Group Management will not be attending the AGM, with a few exceptions such as the Chairman of the Board and the CEO. During the AGM the CEO’s address will be reduced to a few minutes. A more extensive review of 2019 by Holmen’s CEO Henrik Sjölund will be published on holmen.com at the time of the AGM. › more |

Toscotec-supplied tissue line comes online at Picknik Marketing, South Africa
South African tissue manufacturer Picknik Marketing Pty Ltd started up a Modulo-Plus tissue machine supplied by Toscotec at its Johannesburg mill. The new line produced high quality tissue from day one. The Modulo-Plus machine has a sheet width of 2,750 mm, an operating speed of 1,500 m/min, and a production capacity of 75 t/d. It features a second-generation TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer and energy-efficient, gas-fired TT Hood. The supply also includes the stock preparation and approach flow equipment and an off-line shaft puller. The service package includes erection supervision, commissioning, start-up assistance and training. › more |

Toscotec completes two drying section rebuilds for Lucart
From July 2019 to February 2020, Toscotec successfully completed two customized rebuilds at Lucart Diecimo tissue mill. The two rebuilding solutions included the replacement of PM5 and PM6’s existing Yankees with Toscotec’s second-generation Steel Yankee Dryers, complete steam and condensate systems, as well as the installation of a TT SuctionPressRoll. › more |

ANDRITZ receives major order for paper machine rebuild from MOPAK Kağıt Karton, Turkey
International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from MOPAK Kagit Karton, Turkey, to rebuild paper machine PM3 at its mill in Dalaman, Turkey. With this rebuild, which is the first part of a multi-stage project, the capacity of the mill will be increased to 500,000 t/a. Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. › more |

Toscotec and Sofidel to co-present Sofidel America’s new integrated Tissue Mill in Inola, Oklahoma, at Tissue World Miami
Toscotec will be at Tissue World Miami 2020 Booth D-20 to showcase its innovative Tissue Technology including the Energy-Savings solutions customized for Sofidel America. On March 13 at 1:00 pm, Sofidel’s Vice Chief Technical Officer Davide Mainardi and Toscotec’s Sales Director Marco Dalle Piagge will jointly present “Energy Efficient Solutions for Sofidel America: a Case Study”, which offers a detailed analysis of this new integrated tissue mill from a sustainability perspective. › more |
