IntensePress: Voith launches new PU roll cover for press rolls
Problems are often encountered with conventional rolls when processing pulp. The rolls cause high specific pressures as well as a short nip. To prevent this, Voith is now offering a new polyurethane (PU) roll cover that has been developed for press rolls: the IntensePress. This has been specifically designed for use in the demanding applications of pulp machines and twin-wire presses. › more |

ANDRITZ successfully starts up tissue production line delivered to Berli Jucker Cellox, Thailand
The PrimeLineCOMPACT tissue machine has a design speed of 1,900 m/min and a paper width of 2.8 m. A PrimePress XT Evo shoe press installed there dewaters the web gently, but still achieves a far higher post-press dryness than conventional presses. The 16 ft. PrimeDry Steel Yankee is made entirely of steel, having an evaporation rate that is 10-15% higher than that of cast iron models, which results in 8-10% better machine performance. › more |

Toscotec: New AR system for effective remote service
Toscotec upgraded its YES-CONNECT-VISION AR (Augmented Reality) system to provide faster and more effectiveremote services. After launching the first version in 2018, Toscotec perfected the system based on user feedback and practice in the field. With this improved tool, mill operators wearing an ergonomic helmet fitted with a high definition camera send out high-resolution images and audio in real time, becoming the eyes and the ears of Toscotec’s service team inside the mill. › more |

Global packaging and paper group Mondi and Tesco Central Europe have launched a new partnership, in which Mondi will purchase the retailer’s warehouse corrugated waste to create recycled paper for the retailers' shopping bags. Tesco is working towards a net zero emission goal, in line with its sustainability targets to remove, reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible and Mondi is able to contribute to this vision with its customer-centric approach, EcoSolutions. › more |

AFRY main partner in Metsä Fibre’s new bioproduct mill in Finland
AFRY has been awarded with a contract including project management services for the whole mill, detail engineering services for all engineering disciplines for Balance of Plant (BOP) and the digitalisation services of the mill with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and PIM (Process Information Modelling) of the project including establishment of SSOT (Single-Source-of-Truth) concept towards digital twin. AFRY will also provide project management, engineering and site services of the chlorine dioxide plant. › more |

AFRY engineering partner when Renewcell expands operations
Renewcell has awarded AFRY an engineering assignment for their recycled textile materials production expansion at SCA's Ortviken paper mill in Sundsvall, Sweden. The assignment includes project and construction management services, process, mechanical and piping engineering, electrical, automation and instrumentation engineering, fire and HVAC design, as well as civil design. The project is a continuation of AFRY's previous feasibility studies. › more |
