ANDRITZ to supply two semi-chemical fiberlines to Lee & Man Paper, China
International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Lee & Man Paper to supply two semi-chemical fiberlines for its mills in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, and Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, China. Start-up of both lines is scheduled for the end of 2022. › more |

Voith to improve quality and reliability with proven Quality Control System (QCS) OnQuality at UPM’s PM 6 in Schongau, Germany
Recently, UPM has awarded Voith to supply its Quality Control System (QCS) OnQuality of scanners and sensors to the company’s PM 6 in Schongau, Germany. The new system will stabilize and optimize product quality and the overall production process. At the same time, it will increase the mill’s productivity and reduce operating and maintenance costs. UPM was especially convinced by the system’s strong flexibility, its high accuracy and Voith’s short delivery and installation times. The installation is scheduled to be completed within the next three months. › more |

Valmet signs Industrial Internet services agreement with ARAUCO
Valmet and ARAUCO have signed an agreement to jointly develop the Arauco Mill Line 3 in Chile to become the world’s most autonomous pulp mill. Valmet will supply its Industrial Internet Solutions (VII Solutions) comprised of Mill Wide Optimization applications, advanced prediction and monitoring applications as well as expert services. › more |

Sofidel attains high efficiency and premium quality on Toscotec’s lines
In 2020, Sofidel added 120,000 tons a year to its production capacity in the USA with two Toscotec AHEAD 2.0L paper machines in 5,500 millimetre format with an operating speed of 2,000 metres a minute. Toscotec has delivered a turnkey product for the tissue-making area of Sofidel America’s integrated paper mill in Inola, Oklahoma. › more |

International technology Group ANDRITZ has been awarded orders from Nine Dragons Paper, China, to supply equipment and key process technologies for five of their mills. Start-ups are scheduled for 2022 and 2023. › more |

Metsä Group and forest owners planted 270 million seedlings in Finnish forests between 2010 and 2020. This summer, the figure will increase by more than 35 million seedlings. Metsä Group supplies forest owners with native tree species that occur naturally in Finland. › more |

Mondi Frantschach: Fire is under control
Mondi confirms that a fire broke out at its mill in Frantschach St. Gertraud (Austria) around midday on April 29th. The fire is under control and there are no serious injuries nor any broader impact on the environment. › more |

Toscotec’s new tissue line starts up at Thai C.A.S. Paper Mill
C.A.S. Paper Mill started up an AHEAD 1.5S tissue machine supplied by Toscotec at its Sing Buri mill in Thailand. The new AHEAD 1.5S machine has a trim width of 2,850 mm, an operating speed of 1,850 m/min, and produces more than 30,000 tpy of premium quality tissue. The machine configuration is designed to guarantee top energy efficiency with TT NextPress shoe press design, TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer, and steam-heated TT Hood-Hybrid. › more |
