Voith receives order from Nine Dragons Paper to deliver three XcelLine paper machines to China
Nine Dragons Paper, manufacturer of packaging paper in China, has commissioned Voith to build and deliver three XcelLine paper machines for the production of high performance testliner and white top testliner. Tasteful, playful packaging concept won BillerudKorsnäs’ design competition PIDA Sweden
The winners of BillerudKorsnäs’ design competition PIDA Sweden – Packaging Impact Design Award – have been selected. The finest prize of the the competition, PIDA Gold Award, went to design students Jenny Noshi, Anna Carlén, Moa Tillbom and Martin Lilius from Nackademin. Their winning packaging project “Lost in Senses” is designed for a tea set and a whole tea experience. › more |

Stora Enso inaugurates its renewed containerboard mill in Oulu, Finland
Stora Enso arranged a virtual inauguration ceremony to celebrate the successful conversion of the Oulu Mill which was transformed from paper production into high-quality kraftliner production. The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, inaugurated the mill. Oulu is Stora Enso’s second successful conversion, following Varkaus Mill, inaugurated in 2016. › more |

Toscotec steps up Yankee hood efficiency with TT Drying Equilibrium
Toscotec boosts the drying efficiency of its tissue lines with TT Drying Equilibrium, a simple and reliable system that ensures an optimal and automatic regulation of the air balance in the Yankee hoods and air system. The system was originally designed by Voith and transferred to Toscotec for further development in the synergy-creating cooperation established with the acquisition. TT Drying Equilibrium measures several attributes of the air going in and out of the hoods, and automatically adjusts the system to guarantee the highest productivity and energy efficiency. › more |

Valmet to supply technology for Spinnova-Suzano joint venture textile fibre factory in Finland
Valmet will supply drying technology to Spinnova-Suzano joint venture textile fibre factory in Jyväskylä, Finland. The facility, producing SPINNOVA® fibre, is the first step towards scaling production volumes to one million tonnes annually within ten years. Spinnova’s annual capacity could be 50,000 tonnes of textile fibre by 2024. The order is included in Valmet's orders received of the second quarter 2021. The value of the order will not be disclosed. › more |

Valmet receives an order for two tissue lines from Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co., Ltd. in China
Valmet will supply two Advantage DCT tissue lines, including automation system and three tissue rewinders, to Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co., Ltd. in China. The new line will support the company’s increasing demand for high-quality tissue products in the domestic and international markets. The start-ups are planned for the first half of 2022. › more |

Collaboration gives tubes of paper instead of plastic - and great environmental benefits
BillerudKorsnäs FibreForm® is a low-carbon material that allows the tube to keep its shape when squeezed, without traces, and that makes it, as BillerudKorsnäs states, “unique compared to tubes made of other fibre material”. Valmet will deliver defibrator system to Guararapes Caçador MDF plant in Brazil
Valmet will supply a new Valmet Defibrator EVO system to the Brazilian company Guararapes. The system will be used for the company´s medium density fiberboard (MDF) production as part of its major expansion at Caçador plant in Santa Catarina state. This will give Caçador the largest MDF capacity in a single plant in all of the Americas and raise the group’s MDF output. The start-up is scheduled for 2022. Stora Enso and Pulpex partner to produce fiber-based bottles on industrial scale
Stora Enso and packaging technology company Pulpex join forces to industrialize the production of eco-friendly paper bottles and containers made from wood fiber pulp. These renewable products will offer an alternative to PET plastics and glass. The exclusive partnership leverages Stora Enso’s formed fiber technologies and ability to convert end-products at an industrial scale. › more |
