Valmet will deliver a TwinRoll wash press to Holmen Paper AB’s Braviken mill in Sweden. The start-up is scheduled for April 2024. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the fourth quarter 2022. Its value will not be disclosed. › more |

New pulp mill in Sundsvall
SCA is making a major investment in CTMP pulp, tripling its capacity from 100,000 tonnes a year to 300,000 tonnes, increasing the supply of sustainable materials on the world market for packaging and other products. “Now our customers can manufacture more climate-smart products, which replace products made from fossil-based materials,” says Kristina Enander, Director, SCA Pulp. › more |

Andreas Denker new CEO at Netzsch Pumpen & Systeme GmbH
Netzsch Pumpen & Systeme GmbH bids farewell to Mr. Felix Kleinert after 24 years on June 30. The position of CEO will be filled by Andreas Denker. Mr. Andreas Denker will become a further CEO of Netzsch Pumpen & Systeme GmbH in Waldkraiburg on April 1, 2023. Together with the current CEO Felix Kleinert, there will be a transition phase until mid-May, after which he will take over the management of the global Pumps & Systems Business Unit. Andritz to supply world-record MG paper production line to Gascogne Papier
Andritz has received an order from Gascogne Papier, France, to supply a PrimeLine MG (Machine Glazed) paper production line to its mill located in Mimizan, France. Start-up is scheduled for 2025. The new paper machine will have a web width of 6.8 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min. It will thus be the widest MG paper machine worldwide producing basis weights from 120 down to 25 gsm, based on 100% softwood unbleached kraft pulp. With a capacity of 125,000 t/a it will set a new industry benchmark with the highest capacity for uncoated MG papers. › more |

Voith and Essity develop concept for sustainable paper production
Saving CO2 emissions and energy are among the most important fields of action of our time. In recognition of this fact, Voith has developed a completely new, disruptive concept that allows CO2 neutral paper production. Moreover, the groundbreaking concept reduces fresh water consumption by up to 95 percent as well as energy consumption by up to 40 percent throughout the entire papermaking process. The disruptive process no longer requires fossil fuels. Voith has now agreed an exclusive partnership with Essity, a global hygiene and healthcare company, to drive further development of this new process. International technology group Andritz has delivered, installed, and commissioned a mechanical textile recycling line and an airlay line at Novafiber’s nonwovens production mill in Palín, Guatemala. Both lines have been successfully operating since December 2022. › more |
