Saica relies on OnEfficiency.Strength to save starch
Saica has selected Voith to install the OnEfficiency.Strength digital solution. The innovative package for saving starch and consequently reducing CO2 emissions will be used at PM 10 at the El Burgo de Ebro site (Spain) as well as the PM 70 at Nogent-sur-Seine site (France). OnEfficiency.Strength is currently “a unique solution on the market”, developed specifically for paper production. The application is already successfully in operation worldwide. Especially after raw material costs have risen significantly, there is an increasing need for intelligent solutions that quickly reduce production costs. › more |

Andritz to upgrade complete pulping line for Mpact, South Africa
International technology group Andritz has received an order from Mpact Operations (Pty) Ltd. (Mpact) to upgrade a pulping line at its Mkhondo Paper Mill in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The upgrade will boost the line’s capacity and improve the strength properties of the product. This will help the customer respond to the strong domestic and international demand for high-quality sustainable packing solutions. › more |

Trendy unboxing videos are being shared widely across YouTube and social media. The anticipation of a new product, the look and feel of the packaging and the unpacking experience are playing an increasingly important role. ABB extends Automation Software Maintenance program to include more pulp and paper specific software
ABB has launched its latest Automation Software Maintenance (ASM) lifecycle management program to cover the software related to Paper Machine Drives (PMC800) and Pulp and Paper Process Control Library (PPLib800xA). The new service offering is an extension of ABB’s ASM program, and complements the Quality Control System (QCS) ASM program that was introduced in January 2023. › more |

Valmet to supply automation to enfinium’s energy-from-waste project in Sandwell and Dudley in the UK
Valmet will supply automation to enfinium’s energy-from-waste project located at Kelvin Way in Sandwell and Dudley in the UK. The order was placed by Acciona, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for this facility. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The automation system will be taken over by the end customer in September 2025. › more |

Andritz to supply an evaporation plant to Hyogo Pulp Industries in Japan
International technology group Andritz will supply a new black liquor evaporation plant to the unbleached kraft pulp producer Hyogo Pulp Industries, Ltd., Japan. It will replace the mill’s two existing evaporation lines. The evaporation plant will evaporate water from the black liquor, a by-product of the kraft process, so that it can be burned efficiently in the mill’s recovery boiler. “Andritz’s technology will help us to eliminate existing bottlenecks in production, and it will support us in our recycling-oriented operations,” said Naoki Ikawa, Representative Executive Director at Hyogo Pulp Industries. › more |
