A special menu for giant pandas: Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna renews collaboration with Andritz
The two giant pandas at the famous Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna receive special food, which is custom-made to best meet their needs, in addition to bamboo. In collaboration with the zoo, technology group Andritz is preparing raw bamboo for their special menu. Having begun in 2019, this collaboration has now been renewed. › more |

Lanxess and Tennants: Cooperation for enhanced industrial plant hygiene
Lanxess, supplier of antimicrobial protection products, and Tennants GmbH from Bielefeld, Germany, have agreed on a strategic cooperation for integrated solutions in the field of industrial plant hygiene. In doing so, the partners will combine the specialty chemicals group’s biocide portfolio and the company’s adenosine triphosphate (ATP) technology. ATP technology can be used to quickly and reliably detect a possible contamination with microorganisms. › more |

Toscotec to showcase energy efficiency innovations at MIAC 2023
At MIAC Tissue Conference on 11th October at 2.30 pm, Toscotec will present “Toscotec ramps up Water and Energy Reduction in Tissuemaking” with Elisa Bertolucci, Fiber Systems Engineering Manager and Francesco Ureni, Customer Service Manager at Toscotec. SCA’s Chairman Pär Boman declines re-election
Pär Boman declines re-election as the chairman of the board for Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA). Boman remains the board’s chairman until the annual general meeting on March 22, 2024. “Today, I informed SCA’s nomination committee that I intend to leave SCA’s board in connection with next year’s annual general meeting,” Boman states. › more |

Market launch rounds off label paper portfolio
Sappi, manufacturer of speciality papers, is expanding its portfolio of wet-glue label papers with the new wet-strength, alkali-resistant Parade Label Pro WS, produced at the Gratkorn site in Austria. Exactly one year ago, Sappi announced the investment of tens of millions of euros in a state-of-the-art technical infrastructure at this site to be able to produce wet-strength, alkali-resistant label papers in the future and to establish itself as a full-range supplier of label papers in the long term. › more |

Voith to supply a complete pulping and wastewater pre-treatment system to Graphic Packaging International
Graphic Packaging International (GPI), global provider of sustainable consumer packaging, has recently commissioned Voith to supply multiple stock preparation lines, integrated reject handling and the wastewater pre-treatment system for its newest, most advanced coated recycled board (CRB) mill being built in Waco, Texas. With Voith’s tailored process solutions, GPI is expected to improve the efficiency and sustainability of its facility and will ultimately save energy, water and fibers. UPM Raflatac has won the Sustainability Award for its Ocean Action label at the Label Industry Global Awards 2023. The announcement came on Monday, September 11, at the Label Industry Global Awards gala on the first night of Labelexpo Europe 2023. The Sustainability Award recognizes companies demonstrating progress towards a sustainable future for the global labels industry. UPM Raflatac’s Ocean Action label is an excellent example of that. Mondi has partnered with Robopac, manufacturer of pallet-wrapping machinery, to offer a seamless and more sustainable paper wrapping solution for pallet storage and transportation. International technology group Andritz has received an order from Lotus Teknik Tekstil A.S., Türkiye, to install a Metris All-In-One digitalization platform for its new WetlaceTM CP nonwovens production line from Andritz. The integration will be finalized in September 2023. › more |
