Navigator Paper Setúbal's PM 1 and PM 3 run with seamed press felts in all positions for the first time

Navigator Paper Setúbal's PM 1 and PM 3 operate with seamed felts, supplied by Voith, in all press positions, marking a significant milestone for the paper machines. The successful transition resulted from a three-year-long collaborative development between the Setúbal and Voith teams with the common goal of transitioning all press felt positions to seamed felt designs.

Valmet to deliver a new recovery boiler to Klabin’s Monte Alegre mill modernization project

Valmet will deliver a new recovery boiler, an ash crystallization plant, and an odorous gas handling system to Klabin’s Monte Alegre pulp and paper mill as part of Klabin’s announced modernization project. The delivery includes automation and flow control solutions consisting of extensive optimization systems and control valves. The new equipment is estimated to be taken into operation by the end of 2026.

Andritz starts up large eucalyptus pulp mill for Suzano in Brazil

International technology group Andritz has successfully started up a new pulp mill for the Brazilian pulp producer Suzano in the municipality of Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul state. When fully operational, it will be the world’s largest single-line eucalyptus pulp mill with an annual production capacity of 2.55 million tons.

Toscotec to supply complete Yankee Hoods upgrade to Renova in Portugal

Portuguese tissue producer Renova selected Toscotec for the complete rebuild of PM6’s Yankee hoods and air system at their Torres Novas facility near Lisbon. The rebuild is planned for 2024. This is a repeat order for Toscotec who started its cooperation with Renova in 2007 with the replacement of their PM5’s cast iron Yankee with a TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer.

Bellmer signs Metal Service acquisition agreement and strengthens local presence in Brazil

German company Bellmer has signed an agreement to acquire Metal Service, a specialist in stock preparation solutions and paper machines based in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina. The acquisition will strengthen Bellmer's supply of technology and service presence in Brazil. The acquisition of Metal Service is strongly linked to Bellmer's strategy of providing cutting-edge technologies, services and automation to the pulp and paper industries.

Adami Group commissions Voith to build a complete OCC BlueLine stock preparation plant with 4.0 technology

The Adami Group has commissioned full-line supplier Voith to build a complete OCC BlueLine stock preparation plant with 4.0 technology for its factory in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The project includes a comprehensive Process Line Package (PLP), the supply and installation of all main components and detailed engineering. Commissioning is scheduled for October 2025.

Toscotec to supply Steel Yankee Dryer for tobacco at Tae-A Industry in South Korea

Korean tobacco manufacturer Tae-A Industry Corporation has purchased a TT SYD MG Steel Yankee Dryer from Toscotec to replace their cast iron dryer on PM1 at their Daejeon mill in the Republic of Korea. The project is planned for start-up in 2025. Compared with the existing cast iron dryer, the new TT SYD MG will increase the machine’s production capacity and energy efficiency, as well as guarantee higher operational safety.

Andritz to supply waste-to-energy line to La Réunion

International technology group Andritz has received an order from the French energy company Albioma to supply a waste-to-energy line for its Bois-Rouge power plant on the island of La Réunion. The new boiler line will have the capacity to treat 70,000 tons of high calorific waste per year. It will convert solid recovered fuel from household waste into energy, thus supporting the island's efforts to end landfilling and increase energy autonomy.
