The international forest industry event, Pulp & Beyond 2024, will address topics such as climate change, the green transition and the future prospects of the forest industry. The event will also feature discussions on global economy and politics, as well as the importance of innovation. Pulp & Beyond 2024 will take place from Wednesday to Thursday, April 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The main stage program of the event has been released, offering top-notch keynote speeches and panel discussions. The main stage program will be hosted and moderated by André Noël Chaker. The program for the Speaker’s Corner on the event's second stage will be announced in March.
Cepi Update
As of January 2024, Marco Eikelenboom, CEO of Sappi Europe takes over as Chairperson of Cepi from his predecessor Ilkka Hämälä, CEO of Metsä Group. Cepi is an influential trade association in the forest and bio-based industry sector. It is headquartered in Brussels, the capital of the European Union from where Mr. Eikelenboom will carry out his two-year tenure as Cepi’s chairperson.
The 4evergreen alliance unveils the latest version of its Guidance on the Improved Collection and Sorting of Fibre-Based Packaging, updating the 2022 version with further industry insights on collection routes in Europe. The tool, which recommends a two-stream collection system, has also been adapted to be more user-friendly and aligned with the rest of 4evergreen’s circularity toolbox.

Demand for more greener packaging is aligning with innovation in industrial applications to future drive sales of specialty papers, according to the latest Smithers research. Data from its new study – The Future of Specialty Papers to 2028 – show production of these engineered premium paper grades will reach 26.52 million tons in 2023, up from 24.23 million tons in 2018.
