Ranpak announced the launch of its new GrasiKraft™paper void fill made with grass fibers. Ranpak is, as they claim, the first company in the world to offer grass paper as part of its standard product portfolio for void fill, which joins its innovative suite of products including automated packaging solutions and paper converters that can serve any application required within a box.
Mondi has recently completed a €90 million investment upgrade in its Mszczonów plant near Warsaw which doubled its capacity, making it the largest corrugated solutions plant in Poland, and one of the biggest in Europe. The plant is now ideally set up to meet the needs of manufacturers requiring innovative and sustainable packaging solutions with enhanced levels of quality and service. Mondi Warsaw is set to host an event inviting customers to explore the upgraded plant and engage with Mondi experts on packaging innovation, trends and circular solutions.

Following the fire at Mondi’s Stambolijski mill (Bulgaria) on Tuesday 24 September 2024, the Group has announced that it will permanently close the mill. The fire caused extensive damage to the 100,000 tonne per annum brown kraft paper machine and stopped production at the site. Thanks to the swift and professional response on the day, everyone on site remained safe.
Oppboga Bruk AB, producer of multiply paperboard for signs, displays and packaging, recently inaugurated its new KLM3 production line, which is the company’s largest investment in more than 50 years. The bespoke 50-metre-long machine weighing 110 tonnes was installed in just 5 weeks and was up and running at nearly full capacity 2 weeks after startup. Among the invitees that attended the inaugural celebration at Oppboga Bruk were company stakeholders, business representatives and local politicians, as well as employees and their families.

Mondi announces that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the German, Benelux and UK corrugated converting and solid board operations of Schumacher Packaging1 for an enterprise value of €634 million. This acquisition will expand Mondi’s corrugated footprint in Western Europe and add complementary fibre-based products, focused on eCommerce and FMCG, to enhance its existing customer offering.
