Voith delivers successful emergency support for Caesar Pac

Caesar Pac, an international company based in Kuwait, recently received critical emergency assistance from Voith within 24 hours. This collaboration shows the strength of the Voith sales and service teams and its commitment to support customers in times of urgent need. “We would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your efficient response to Caesar Pac’s emergency call. Your prompt action in dispatching a technical team for inspection and measurement, followed by a dedicated online meeting to redesign the roll cover, was exemplary,” says Hamdy Badawy, Production Manager at Caesar Pac International. An onsite troubleshooting session was conducted on short notice, and an in-depth audit and report about the findings was carried out.

Chandpur Enterprises starts up two Toscotec’s MG dryers in India

Indian paper manufacturer Chandpur Enterprises started up two highly technological TT SYD MG Steel Yankee Dryers for Machine Glazed paper supplied by Toscotec as a replacement of two local steel Yankee cylinders at their facility in Chandpur, Uttar Pradesh. After the rebuild, PM1 and PM2 resumed production of MG paper in the basis weight range from 35 to 70 gsm.

On the road: Södra deploys first electric truck to transport pulp from Värö

As part of its efforts to achieve its climate goal of net zero emissions of fossil greenhouse gases by 2040, Södra’s first electric truck is on the road. Part of a pilot project, the truck will be entirely dedicated to transporting fossil-free deliveries of pulp from Värö to port terminals in Gothenburg and Varberg. This month, some shipments of pulp from Värö will be delivered by electric truck as part of Södra's climate efforts to achieve net zero emissions of fossil greenhouse gases by 2040. This one truck is expected to save 48 tonnes of CO2 per year, compared with a diesel-powered truck.

SCA signs a new credit facility agreement of SEK 6 billion

Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget SCA (publ) has signed a new credit facility of SEK 6 billion. The new facility is a refinancing of the current undrawn credit facility of SEK 5 billion, which was signed in 2019. The credit facility is primarily a back-up facility that will remain undrawn and serve as a liquidity reserve for the company.

Mondi starts up new extrusion line at Štĕtí

Mondi has announced the start-up of its new extrusion line at Mondi Coating Šteti (Czech Republic), marking another milestone in the Group’s commitment to support customers in their transition to sustainable solutions. The extrusion line is part of a wider investment that includes a new production building with state-of-the-art machinery including coating and slitting capabilities. Cardboard Factory Obenauf: Company transaction completed

Alexander Wietasch took over the Bad Harzburg-based cardboard factory Obenauf as a shareholder at the beginning of October and will now head the company as CEO. Founded in 1886, the company manufactures high-quality products from solid board. The transaction was completed on October 1, 2024, at the same time Wietasch was appointed as CEO. After his technical career, the trained mechatronics engineer and industrial foreman studied Business Law. Before the takeover he headed the Westminster Group as Managing Director. Wietasch grew up in Salzgitter and is returning to his home region after holding various positions in Hong Kong and Berlin. The previous shareholder Tobias Neidhardt will continue to support the company as an advisor.

Hinojosa Packaging commissions Voith with comprehensive rebuild of PM 1 in Alquería, Spain

Hinojosa Packaging Group, a Spanish paper manufacturer, is realizing the planned rebuild of its PM 1 at the Alquería site, Spain, together with full-line supplier Voith. The project aims to increase the production of containerboard with basis weights of 115 to 195 g/m2 by around 19 percent to 128,000 tons of saleable paper per year, improve overall machine efficiency and reduce steam consumption.

Toscotec completes second rebuild project at Ranheim Paper & Board in Norway

Following a successful rebuild of the dryer section supplied by Toscotec, Ranheim Paper & Board restarted PM5 at their facility in Norway. The two-phase project was completed on schedule, and PM5, which has been in operation since 1960, is now efficiently producing greyboard and coreboard with basis weights ranging from 220 to 500 gsm.

Rebuild for DS Smith’s PM 4 at Viana Paper Mill successfully completed

Following its rebuild and start-up in October 2023, PM 4 at DS Smith's Viana Paper Mill reached final acceptance. The rebuild has increased production from 400,000 tons to 430,000 tons of kraftliner and high-performance top kraftliner per year, at a design speed of 1,200 m/min. This improves the plant's overall efficiency and further strengthens its position in Southern Europe.
