Toscotec’s TAD machine starts up at Hengan in China

Chinese tissue producer Hengan International Group started up a Tadvision® tissue machine supplied by Toscotec at their headquarters facility in Fujian. This is the second of two TAD (Through-Air-Drying) machines that Toscotec supplied to Hengan, of which the first came online in 2023 at their Xiaogan mill in Hubei.

Venator announces price increase in Europe, Africa and the Middle East

Venator - a global manufacturer of pigments and additives – today announced a mandatory price increase of €300/t for all titanium dioxide pigments and performance additive products sold in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA), effective February 1, 2025 (customer terms permitting). This adjustment is necessary to address the sustained elevated and volatile energy costs that are impacting manufacturing across Europe.

Kaskad makes long-awaited comeback in the nordic market

The Swedish-made coloured paper Kaskad from Lessebo Paper, a classic beloved for its high quality and versatility, is back in the Nordic market after a hiatus. It is now available as a stock item at Addbrand. The distributor Addbrand is reintroducing the Kaskad paper series in A4 format for distribution in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The paper is already in stock, initial deliveries have been dispatched, and the customer response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Södra planning to divest forest holding in the Baltics

SCA increases NBSK price to USD 1,530

SCA will increase the price on NBSK pulp (Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft) in Europe by 50 USD per tonne. The new price will be effective February 1st. “We observe improvements in several global markets, while producer stocks are decreasing,” comments Henning Ellström, VP Sales and Marketing Pulp.

Mondi Neusiedler invests 20 million euros in more sustainable sites

Mondi has made good progress on the previously announced €20 million investment programme at its Neusiedler uncoated fine paper mills (Austria). The full benefit of the upgrades is expected from the first quarter of 2025, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions and increased energy efficiency and operational safety.

Developing paper sack circularity in the construction sector

Eurosac and Cepi Eurokraft recently joined the Paper Sacks Go Circular Spain alliance. The alliance unites about 50 European companies from the whole value chain. They share the common interest to promote efficient industrial waste management and achieve a circular economy in recycling paper sacks and other construction waste. Among others, they have established a well-functioning process for the collection and recycling of paper sacks.

Toscotec starts up energy saving upgrade at AB Grigeo Group in Lithuania

Toscotec has started up a high efficiency TT SteamBooster steam generation system at one of the AB Grigeo Group’s mill UAB Grigeo Tissue in Grigiskes, Lithuania. The new TT SteamBooster was implemented into the hood and steam systems of their PM6, a Toscotec-supplied Ahead tissue line that came online in 2015.
